Whitburn Golf Club has an active fundraising team that is committed to supporting local charities and worthwhile causes.

St Clare's Hospice

TOTAL RAISED SO FAR: £7,689.95

Over £7,500 has been raised to date by Whitburn Golf Club for St Clare's Hospice, a small local North East charity based in Jarrow that provides palliative care to the people of South Tyneside and Gateshead.

The 1st St Clare's Hospice Charity Golf Competition (A Texas Scramble) was held at Whitburn Golf Club on Saturday 14th July 2007. Despite being a very windy day, 68 teams of 4 took part in the event which included putting and chipping competitions and nearest the pin and nearest the target prizes on every hole.

The competition and fundraising night held the following week (21st July) was generously supported by a number of local businesses and individuals. Whitburn Golf Club extends special thanks to all those who helped to make this event a success, in particular those who made donations or gave prizes.

Donations

Although partially funded by South Tyneside PCT, St Clare's still needs to raise approx. £600,000 each year to keep the hospice open. If you would like to make a donation to St Clare's, you can download and complete a Gift Aid form.
